Cryogenic Pipe Freezing is used for temporary isolation of pipes. This is considered the safest, most economical and effective method for allowing general pipe work modifications.
The Pipeline materials that can be subjected to cryogenic temperatures include CS, CI, SS, aluminium alloys, etc. Pipeline fluids that have been crystallized to form an ice plug include: Fresh water, Glycol solutions, Sea water, Effluents / Sewage, Produced water, Sludge’s, contaminated water, Crude oil, Bunker C oils, Fuel oils, Methanol, Lubrication oils, various chemical products.
The important point about Pipe Freezing is that the flow should be kept static during the process.
